30 overs per side  Result: Ibiza (137/1) beat Ibiza Renegades (135 all out) by 9 wickets

The Renegades batted first today, and thanks to steadfast batting from Shahid (35) and Stephen Balmforth (28), scored steadily at over 4 runs per over, posting 91/4 after 20 overs. Graeme Cooper then hit a rapid 23 and Martin Makepeace contributed 18 not out, surpassing their score from the previous day and threatening much more, when the former was bowled going for a big hit. Their last batsman then departed soon after, leaving them on a respectable, but below par, 135 all out.

The Ibiza bowlers were again economical, with Mike Amos (2/20) and Sam Gooda (2/34) having the most success. P.Crutwell, P.Mills, J.Dudding, R.Parmenter and P.Partridge supported them with good bowling spells.

Ibiza then batted with their dependable openers Paddy Mills (24) and Andy Holmes (50) scoring freely and eventually both retiring when less than 50 runs were required. Paul Partridge then added a robust 40 not out to ensure the target was reached in the 23rd over. Renegades bowler Shahid snared the only wicket to fall during the Ibiza innings.

However, whatever the result, credit and thanks are due to Martin Makepeace for managing to assemble enough Ibiza CC players, past and present, to create this inter club weekend of cricket. It was great fun, wonderful to see so many players competing, and a timely workout for Ibiza CC after the long summer break! Let the autumn fixtures now begin! RPHood
